KITCHEN TOOLS · FREE & EASY TO USE

Kitchen math,
made simple.

Convert a measurement, resize your recipe, or find the right oven temperature. Keep your cooking moving.

01 / EVERYDAY MEASUREMENTS

A spoonful, converted.

Switch between kitchen measures or convert weights.

Decimals and fractions welcome: 0.5, 1/2, or 1 1/2.

US cup = 236.588 mL; metric cup = 250 mL. Metric tablespoon = 15 mL; Australian tablespoon = 20 mL. Fluid ounces measure volume; ounces measure weight.

02 / INGREDIENT WEIGHTS

Same cup. Different weight.

A cup of flour and a cup of sugar weigh differently. Choose your ingredient first.

These are approximate reference weights, not exact density measurements. Brand, packing and preparation affect the result. If your recipe gives a weight, use that weight. For baking, a scale is the more reliable choice.

03 / MAKE A LITTLE MORE

Your recipe. Your table.

Enter your original ingredient amounts, then change the number of servings. The example rows are editable.

Scale ingredients, not the clock. Cooking time and oven temperature do not scale with servings. Pan size, food depth and batch size may change the result. For a fraction of an egg, beat it first and measure the required portion. Review leavening and seasoning when making large changes.

Your entries stay on this page and are cleared when you reload. No account needed.

04 / TURN UP THE HEAT

Set your oven with confidence.

This converts temperature units only. It does not adjust a conventional recipe for a fan or convection oven. Follow your recipe and oven instructions.

How these calculations work

US customary volumes use 1 US fluid ounce = 29.5735295625 mL, with 8 fluid ounces per cup, 16 tablespoons per cup and 3 teaspoons per tablespoon. Weight conversions use 1 pound = 453.59237 g and 16 ounces per pound. Results are rounded for display, not between calculations.

Ingredient estimates use the gram amounts in the King Arthur Baking ingredient weight chart, scaled to one US cup. For example, the listed 113 g per half cup of butter becomes 226 g per cup. These are reference estimates; other recipes may use different rounding.
