If you haven’t already frozen fruit, slice the banana and chill it in the freezer for at least 30 minutes. Measure your frozen mango and pineapple, and make sure the blender jar and blades are clean and assembled. Have your toppings ready so you can finish the bowl immediately after blending.
Tip: Freezing the banana and mango ahead of time helps create a thicker, creamier bowl.
Place frozen mango, banana, frozen pineapple (if using), yogurt, and lime juice in the blender. Add the honey or maple syrup if you prefer a sweeter bowl.
Secure the lid and start the blender on low to break up the frozen chunks. Slowly increase to medium or high speed, using short pulses if necessary to prevent the blender from stalling.
Tip: If your blender struggles, stop and use a tamper or a spatula to push fruit toward the blades, or add a tablespoon of liquid at a time.
If the mixture is too thick for the blades to move, add a splash (1 tablespoon at a time) of coconut milk until it flows smoothly but remains spoonable. Aim for a thick, soft-serve consistency—not runny.
Blend until the mixture is uniformly smooth and creamy, then taste and adjust sweetness or acidity with more honey or lime juice if needed. Stir in chia seeds with a quick pulse if using.
Tip: A quick taste test helps you balance sweetness and brightness—lime brightens mango beautifully.
Divide the smoothie base between two bowls. Arrange granola, toasted coconut flakes, fresh mango slices, and mint on top. Serve immediately for the best texture.
Tip: Add crunchy toppings just before serving to keep them crisp.
For an extra tropical presentation, drizzle a little passionfruit pulp or sprinkle hemp seeds and a pinch of flaky sea salt over the top.
